Below are survey results conducted by AAA where 1,000 motorists answered questions relating to road rage and anger while driving.
- Purposely Tailgated = 51%
- Brake Checked Vehicle Behind = 46%
- Honked or Given Middle Finger = 44%
- Yelled, Screamed and Made Improper Gestures = 35%
- Cut someone off on purpose = 13%
- Got out of the vehicle and confronted another driver = 3%
- Collided with another vehicle on purpose = 2%
More interesting statistics:
- 97% of the 2% of motorists who reported colliding with another vehicle, also reported actions 1 through 6 above
- 62% Male and 38% Female
- 70% under 30 years of age
- 21% with college degree
- 80% Rural
- Alabama is the state with the highest road rage fatalities per capita
