The increased supply of rough units, combined with the lack of quality used trucks at auction, has pushed the overall market downward for Medium Duty Trucks. However, all three segments for Heavy Duty Trucks are showing better retention levels in the past several months.

Recreational Vehicles are hitting their stride for this time of year, led by Towables, which were up for the fifth-straight month, and even Motor Homes which saw a slight increase. Black Book expects auction sales of both Towables and Motor Homes to ease off a bit as we head into the summer months.

The hottest segments in Collectibles continue to be the Vintage Exotics and Full-Size Post-War American cars. And could the excitement over the new Corvette be a driver of 1960’s Corvettes seeing price increases recently at auction?

For Motorcycles and Power Sports segments, Black Book is keeping an eye on larger Domestic V-Twin Bikes and Sport Bikes, which have seen higher-than-average changes in prices for clean, late-model units. Snowmobiles dropped –2.7% in May, but ATVs actually increased by +0.1%.
